Instructions

In order to prepare your surgery in the best possible manner, please observe the following instructions:

On the day of your surgery, please take a shower or bath and wash your hair with a normal shampoo. Please try to avoid using any type of hair spray and other lotions.
It is very important to have a good breakfast in the morning of your surgery.
If you are a smoker, it is recommended to avoid smoking 24 hours prior to surgery.
Don’t take alcohol 24 hours prior to surgery.
The day of your surgery, please try to avoid wearing clothes which requires pulling them over your head. Like T-shirts, pullover.

Hence it is recommended to wear a shirt on the day of procedure.

Medications

You will have to take the following medications:

Tab Augmentin Duo (Antibiotic) 625mg. Thrice in a day for 5 days post surgery.
Tab Combiflam (Pain Killer). Thrice in a day for 3 days post surgery.
Tab Prednisolone (10mg, swelling Reducing Drug). Four times in a day for two days.

This treatment is designed to prevent forehead edema/ eye edema. Normally you do not need to take this medicine if the surgery only affects the vertex.

A blood analysis is requested (Hepatitis B, C and HIV). Ideally we should have receive the results of this blood test at least 2 days prior to the surgery. If you have a copy of results, you can send it to us by e-mail and provide us with a copy of the results on the day of surgery. On the day of surgery you will also receive all the post-op instructions. In fact the first hours are crucial. You should not touch the grafts at all. You will be required to visit the clinic after 48hr for a consultation.
Generally speaking for patients from abroad, there are no issues with travelling day after surgery.

Request

If you take multi-vitamin, vitamin B or E, please stop one week before your surgery. Such vitamins could enhance the bleeding.
Don’t take aspirin or anti inflammatory and herbals medications one week before the surgery.
If you use anti depressor, anticoagulant or beta blocker, please inform Skin and Sculpt.
